One of my favorite classic Twilight Zone episodes is The Old Man in the Cave. What follows is a brief synopsis for those who are not familiar with the episode. There has been some type of global nuclear disaster and the inhabitants of a small town have survived on meager rations and crops for 10 years from the advice of the old man in the cave. Only the town leader, Mr. Goldsmith has ever met the old man and he appears to visit him daily for advice on where to grow crops, when to collect rain water or what discovered food is safe to eat. One day a group of four military men enter the town and promise a tyranny similar to the mob’s offer of safety for a price. Amid their lies lay a Pandora’s Box of freedom – live as you wish if you follow us. The military men finally coerce Goldsmith to lead them to the old man all the while misleading the inhabitants to reject him. In the end, the people enter the cave to discover that the “Old Man” in actually a computer. Under the leadership of the military men the townspeople are led to destroy it, “There’s your old man! Kill it; you’ve got to kill it!” “You’re free now, you understand that, Free!” In destroying the old man, they destroy their very protector and death soon follows to all but Goldsmith – “all the compassion left in the world is behind that door.”
I was recollecting this episode as I listened to Part 2 of Our Lady of Good Success Predictions Vatican II and it’s Fruits (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR7THIi4ts0). A talk given by the foremost authority on Our Lady of Good Success, Dr. Marian Horvat. I am coming to understand that Our Lady of Good Success is the greatest hope humanity has to fight against the snares of Satan in the 20th and now 21st centuries. Through her, we can come to understand how fully corrupted our world has become and how it’s not just an issue of Vatican II, but societal as a whole affecting every culture and beginning far back in our history, perhaps to the time of the Enlightenment and the emergence of Secular Humanism or even farther. Our role, our duty as the faithful is to sacrificially offer our lives up in reparation for the sins of the world and for all lost souls, of which there are millions. Satan is counting our us being overwhelmed into apathy. We cannot allow ourselves to be lost in cynicism; we must wield our arms, our Rosaries under the direction of Our Lady of Good Success!

Let us look a bit more at Our Lady of Good Success. Our dearest Mother visited Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres between 1594 and 1634 sharing that approximately 400 years in the future (just following the middle of the 20th century) great corruption would enter the Church. Our Lady also shared that Mariana’s visions would be hidden for hundreds of years so that when this time came, those who could no longer find the “light of the church” could discover this great miracle and find hope through Sr. Mariana and Our Lady of Good Success. At Mary’s asking, Sr. Mariana offered her life up for we the faithful now, in this time. Let me share one of Our Lady’s prophesies. “In these unhappy times, there will be unbridled luxury, which will ensnare the rest into sin, and conquer innumerous frivolous souls who will be lost. Innocence will almost no longer be found in children nor modesty in women. In this supreme moment of need of the Church, the one who should speak will fall silent.”
As I reflected on Marian Horvat’s talk, I realized that the townspeople are to the Old Man in the cave as 20th and 21st century secularism is to God. One of the townspeople, Jason begins to reject his current circumstances with the seed of deceit now planted within him and laments, “Man does not live on bread alone or canned food or freak vegetables. But do me a favor, don’t ask me what he does live on!” We like the townspeople and our forefathers want to live as we wish. We reject the laws of God seeing them as restrictive. Later, in disgust, Jason says to Goldsmith, “We’ve survived for ten years! But we’ve never lived.” Jason, like so many today does not realize what he is rejecting. Like Esau who gave up his birth rite for a bowl of soup, we callously toss God aside for a promise the world can never truly fulfill.

I’m sure most of you who have read my posts are familiar with the damages of Progressives and the Masonic movement. If not or if you want to see the effects of this movement, please review my post on Saul Alinsky. What was holy through God’s love has become distorted by the works of the devil. What Satan claimed he could do in 1884 in the vision which Pope Leo XIII witnessed has nearly reached its fruition, as another of Our Lady’s prophecies tells us, “Thus do I make it known to you, from the end of the 19th century and from shortly after the middle of the 20th century, the passions will erupt, doctrine will be corrupted and there will be a total corruption of customs for Satan will reign almost completely by means of the Masonic Sects. They will focus particularly on the children in order to achieve this corruption.”

I take solace in our Lady’s promise, “in the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph.” Remember also the words of Jesus to Peter as he handed him the keys to the kingdom, “… and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
In this critical time, let us not lose hope. Let us rely on Our Mother. I invite you to recite this prayer and recite it often. There is a copy of this on the Our Lady of Good Success website, Pledge to Our Lady of Good Success. See the site for many beautiful prayers, devotions and novenas.
Pledge to Our Lady of Good Success:

I beg your intercession before the Most Holy Trinity to grant us the full restoration of the Catholic Church. Grant to us through they Most Beloved Son the grace to persevere in these times and to aid in spreading this devotion.
